How to Remove Old or Misplaced Fasteners

(Cap & Socket or Eyelet & Stud)

Unfortunately there is not a specific tool designed to do this type of fastener removal.

We use a pair of side cutters when we need to remove a (Cap & Socket or Eyelet & Stud) combinations.

You obviously need to be careful not to rip the fabric .

You should choose a pair of side cutter with the most flat/thin jaws you can find.

If your handy with a grinder you can modify a pair by grinding a small notch in the center of the cutting blades.

This will help get between the 2 fasteners with the least amount of force.

Slowly work your way in toward the post

Always working from the back or socket/eyelet side.
